ABOUT THE POSITION:
As a Care Coordinator, you will be expected to work with and serve a diverse and unique population. Our clients and residents come from all walks of life, and each has its own barriers and struggles, which we attempt to assist with however we can. Nine out of 10 women in the OTS program have cooccurring disorders, which means they have a mental health and substance use diagnosis when coming into our program. This leaves these women vulnerable to homelessness and incarceration. We work to help them lead fulfilling and empowered lives. Nearly all the women coming into our program have also experienced some trauma throughout their lives, many with an existing PTSD diagnosis. As a member of the HER Cincinnati team, you will be expected to conduct yourself in a trauma-informed manner. We work hard to be a trauma-informed agency that aims to never retraumatize our clients and residents through our work with them. We also aim to meet our clients where they are - meaning that we collaborate with their goals and help them achieve what they feel is important. Due to the severe mental health we see in our program, the needs of the women are large. As a team member, you must utilize de-escalation, motivational interviewing, active listening, and many more techniques to interact with and assist our clients. We provide supervision and staff development to assist you with developing and utilizing these skills.
